Preventive Services Required In New Health Plans

by US Department of Health & Human Services on Aug 19, 2010

Beginning September 23, 2010 all new health insurance plans are required by the Affordable Care Act to include a long list of preventive services without you having to pay a copayment or coinsurance or meet your deductible, when these services are delivered by a network provider. Insurers, like Regence BlueShield of Idaho and Blue Cross of Idaho have been busy changing their new plans to cover certain evidence-based preventive services at no cost to you. Existing health plans will not include these additional services until your next renewal date. Services include screenings, consultations, immunizations and more.
