BREAKING NEWS: Fireworks spectators invited back to Adam's Football Field and Parkway School lawn July 4th

CLARKSTON SCHOOL DISTRICT WELCOMES PUBLIC FOR JULY 4TH FIREWORKS VIEWING

Community Spirit announced that the aerial fireworks fallout safety zone was expanded this year because of the larger 6-inch shells being used in the 250th America Anniversary show. Due to this change, the Clarkston School District has invited the public back to Adams football field at CHS and lawn at Parkway Elementary School to watch the aerial fireworks show. This new information  contradicts previous announcements by Community Spirit to promote the event saying that Adams Field was close.

Clarkston School District, in their news release said they are, "pleased to welcome community members back to Adams Field at Clarkston High School and the lawn at Parkway Elementary School as viewing locations tfor this year's Fourth of July fireworks celebration. For the first time in several years, the District is opening these campuses to the public so families, friends, and neighbors can gather to enjoy the American 250th Anniversary fireworks display in a safe, family-friendly environment. These locations offer some of the best up-close views of the fireworks.

Please note that no concert, food vendors, or activities are planned at these sites. Restroom facilities will be available in the west end building passageway at CHS. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on the fields.  You may bring your own coolers with food, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks.

Attendees are asked to please observe these restrictions on school properties:

·         No fireworks, firearms, alcohol, tobacco products, vaping devices, illegal drugs, or pets.

·         Follow signage directions and from event staff and public safety personnel.

·         Respect for school property and help keep campus clean of trash and take all personal belongings with you.

·         Clarkston Police Department will patrol the school grounds for compliance of these restrictions.

However, Beachview Park is open to the public on the 4th of July up until 9pm. Clarkston police will start clearing the park of all people in the fallout zone beginning at 9pm and direct them to either Adams football field or the grass at Parkway Elementary so they can watch the fireworks show at 10pm.

Adams football field spectators will need to sit towards the west end of the field behind the ropes because of the expanded fallout safety zone.

Parkway School grass spectators will need to sit more towards the south end of grass behind ropes and signs because of the expanded fallout safety zone.
