John Sullivan, President of Interlink Senior Services, was a speaker at Interlink’s Anniversary Luncheon on March 26, 2026, sponsored by AMERICAN INSURANCE. Here are key excerpts from his speech that were heard by the nearly 100 community members present.
I wish what I’m going to say was not true, but the reality is, the constant disruptions in all our daily lives since COVID have continued in our demographics, technologies, economics, politics, and world affairs, and they won’t ease off anytime soon. The heavy challenges to government revenues, non-profit funding and business profits brings us to a common realization….
Based on that common realization, Interlink found itself in a position to “pitch a larger tent” over all senior services needed by the LC Valley seniors.
VISION, MISSION, VALUES. It started with our board of directors’ retreat that created an expanded vision, a broadened mission statement and a statement of our values, that I would like to share with you now.

OUR VISION: Creating the community we all want to age into
Interlink’s vision is to facilitate the engagement of community volunteers, non-profit and government programs, foundations, faith communities, individual philanthropy, and partnerships with local business for the health and well-being of LC Valley seniors - creating the community we all want to age into.
OUR MISSION:
STRATEGIC PLAN. Now, at this 2026 Interlink Anniversary Luncheon, I am pleased to share with you how we are building out Interlink’s strategic plan.
Interlink is building our infrastructure with digital tools to support the senior community, using a wholistic approach that includes communications of helpful information and connections to all locally available senior programs.
Rather than limiting our senior services narrowly, Interlink will return to our history of matching all senior needs to volunteers and community resources by organizing these resources with our website and digital tools.
Community Engagement. To facilitate community engagement, we needed to create a new website and manage our constituency relationships with a CRM database/email program specifically designed for non-profits.
Within the next 60 days we hope to launch both software programs and be able to send regular communications by email, text and e-Newsletters.

The new website will have an Our Programs tab that will provide easy access to information to enroll in Interlink Services; Support Our Work tab will feature volunteer opportunities and support through donations; Our Resources tab will include a Senior Services Directory with referral links LC Valley Senior Services and Partners; and a News, Events and Community tab will provide connections for senior activities, a Community Calendar, helpful information and community stories & news that will reduce isolation and improve quality of life. (see an example of the Website Home Page here).
Interlink will become the “link” to over 3,500 local LC Valley Seniors plus an additional 3,000 in constituencies of volunteers, businesses, government programs and non-profit programs related to local senior services.
Next, I would like to answer the question posed at the beginning of this talk by reading Interlink’s first value statement….

OUR VALUES:
We believe that aging is a community responsibility
and that Interlink can facilitate community “links” through partnerships with volunteers, programs,
local governments, non-profits, faith communities, businesses and individuals on behalf of seniors.
After all, “aging” is not a problem that is solved once and for-all. It is an ongoing stage of life that requires an ongoing plan to help seniors age with dignity every step of the way. That means that Interlink needs sustaining contributions, not just one-and-done grants and gifts that don’t support our overhead and operations.
The plans we make today are for your grandparents and parents, or for you and your spouse and soon for your children and grandchildren.
Your investment and support today will decide what kind of future we all have. Together we are “creating the community we all want to age into.”
