We invite you to join us in the 10th Annual Hometown Business Food Drive, Nov 17-21
Federal cuts to USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds and eligibility plus continued inflation in food and housing costs threatens to make food insecurity a crisis! Food insecurity for the under-employed, veterans, retired and disabled has never been more urgent. Food banks in Lewiston, Clarkston and Moscow report a big increase in new requests for food and shelves need to be refilled.
Steve Small, Program Manager at Community Action Food Bank in Lewiston, said "We are going to need help this year more than ever. The Hometown Business Food Drive sponsored by American Insurance is our largest annual food drive and we count on the generosity of our local business commnunity, their employees and caring individuals to meet the needs in our community."
Our local Hometown businesses and individual food donations go to their local food bank -- so Lewiston contributions go to Community Action Partnership in Lewiston, Clarkston donations go to Asotin County Food Bank in Clarkston, and Moscow donations go to Palouse Cares in Moscow.

Here's how our Hometown Business Food Drive works.
SUPPORT LOCAL GROCERS:Discounted pre-bagged food is available for quick pickup for Individuals and Business employees at these local Food Store Partners: A & B Foods on 8th Street or Thain and Grocery Outlet on Thain in Lewiston; or Rick’s Family Foods on Highland in Clarkston, or the Moscow Food Co-Op in Moscow. Individuals can leave their donation at the store for pickup there, but Business employees will take their donations to their worksite.
COLLECT FOOD DONATIONS: Business Partners announce your participation to your staff. Then you and your employees bring bags of food donations into your business location for pickup. At your location, you can also invite vendors, suppliers, customer and friends to partner with you to bring in food for pickup. We share donations from Lewiston businesses with the Community Action Food Bank, from Clarkston businesses to the Asotin County Food Bank and in Moscow we give to Palouse Cares.
PICTURES & PICKUP: Business Partners pick a day and time the week of Nov. 17-21 for an Agent from American Insurance to pick up your food donations. We can either take your employee picture or we can use just your logo to share our gratitude on social media.
PUBLICITY:With your permission, American Insurance will post the picture of your employees and donated items to our Facebook page, your Facebook page, onour website, and sent out in anemail and newsletter to more than 4,000 area residents to highlight the contributions of local hometown businesses and encourage others to donate.
