Next annual food drive set

In 2022, American Insurance Partnered with more than 70 local businesses for the 7th Annual Hometown Business Food Drive.

We are adding more local business Partnerships to meet the growing needs for three local food banks.

Our local businesses contribute towards their local food bank -- so Lewiston businesses go to Community Action Partnership in Lewiston, across the river they go to Asotin County Food Bank in Clarkston, and up the hill, they go to Palouse Cares in Moscow.

Need more information or ready to sign up for this year's event? Contact our Event Coordinator Stephanie Herbert at (208) 413-6242 or community [at] am-ins [dot] com.

Here's how our American Insurance Hometown Business Food Drive works.

  • COLLECT FOOD DONATIONS: You announce your participation to your staff. Then you and your employees bring bags of food donations into your business location for pickup. At your location, you can also invite vendors, suppliers, customer and friends to partner with you to bring in food for pickup. We share donations from Lewiston businesses with the Community Action Food Bank, from Clarkston businesses to the Asotin County Food Bank and in Moscow we give to Palouse Cares.
  • SUPPORT LOCAL GROCERS: Bring food from your own pantry or visit our partners at A & B Foods on 8th Street or Thain, and Grocery Outlet on Thain or at Rick’s Family Foods on Highland in Clarkston, or to the Moscow Food Co-Op for discounted bags of food.
  • PICTURES & PICKUP: Pick a day and time the week of Nov. 14-18 for an Agent from American Insurance to pick up your food donations. We can either take your employee picture or we can use just your logo to share our gratitude on social media.
  • PUBLICITY: With your permission, American Insurance will post the picture of your employees and donated items to our Facebook page, your Facebook page, on our website, and sent out in an email and newsletter to more than 4,000 area residents to highlight the contributions of local hometown businesses and encourage others to donate.
